Back to the Grind

Everyone went to their "places" today.  Ian and Ruby went to daycare.  Chris and I went to work.  Both kids slept until 8:00am, which is sleeping in LATE for this house.  So, Chris got a little more sleep and even felt good enough to go to the gym.

I went to see my rheumatologist this morning.  I had not seen her since July.  She was pleased with my progress.  I was so proud to tell her that I'm not taking any medication for my TM!  She was really pleased w/ my weight loss.  Apparently, I've lost 17 pounds since I saw her in July.  That was a surprise to me!  That damn Prednisone.  At least 12 pounds had to have been in my face.  Geesh!  She did labwork and said that she's just going to continue to follow me every 6 months to ensure that no Lupus "shows up" since I had that elevated ANA.  But I still have no symptoms of Lupus, thankfully.

I had a good day at work.  I got to see a precious little girl I case manage who used to have numerous seizures a day as an infant.  She had brain surgery at 8 months and now, at 2 years old and on anti-epileptic drugs, she's having a brief seizure every 3 days and loving school.  She's definitely got a lot of challenges still but it was nice to see her doing so well!

I picked up the kids.  Yes!  They both made it ALL day at daycare.  We came home for dinner and then my neighbor, Cathy, came over to visit.  She is caring for Ruby on Saturday so that Ian, Chris, and I can go to Charlotte's memorial service.  She wanted to see Ruby again so she wouldn't be a "stranger" on Saturday and it gave me a chance to give her an idea of Ruby's schedule.  Cathy and I had a nice talk while the kids played busily around us.  Cathy is so sweet to help us out on Saturday!

I've got to straighten up this house and get ready for bed.  Let's hope for another good night's sleep...  Is that too much to ask?  Yes, probably.
